Meet some of our Forces for Good...
The effectiveness of any organization depends on the insights, passion, and caregiving of its governing body. We've been blessed at Timothy's Gift to have a greatly talented Board of Directors -- each of whom has attended our tours and been touched by our work in ways they're quick to talk about.
The Timothy's Gift Board shuffles every few years in order to bring new voices and fresh ideas into the programs, so if you feel led or have a recommendation, please feel free to reach out. For example, racial diversity is a high priority for 2022.
You might wonder how someone with a Biology major and a BA in Secondary Education ends up founding a non-profit like Timothy’s Gift – until you start a conversation about his compassionate upbringing, with a mother who brought conversation (and cobbler!) to anyone in need of either.
Skilled in strategic planning, opportunity identification and networking, Ron has worked as a talent agent and church administrator for over 30 years, during which he visited all 50 states and many foreign countries. Along the way, he was blessed to meet long-time gospel great, John Starnes, who accompanied him on his earliest forays into what became “Timothy’s Gift.”
Recently "retired" from his responsibilities in church administration, Ron now serves Timothy’s Gift full-time, works with those experiencing homelessness, and cares for his adoptive pup, Cooper! (And yes, he's still making those cobblers!)
For over thirty years, John Starnes traveled around the world as a featured soloist with many of the world’s most prominent Christian ministries, including those of Dr. Charles Stanley, Bill Gaither and Jimmy Swaggart.
John earned a B.S. in Liberal Studies from Belmont University at the age of 57, and an Honorary Doctorate of Sacred Music from Canada Christian College.
After becoming an instructor with Walk Thru the Bible Ministries (WTB), he helped Ron Miller launch Timothy's Gift, and together, conducted WTB seminars in prisons throughout Florida until 2012. He has been on the TG Board since its inception, and remains a vital source of positivity as we face and overcome our challenges.
